Make Giving Back Your Ministry

Are you interested in joining the First Christian Church family in giving back to the community? We have many opportunities for you to get involved by donating and volunteering.

Here are current and upcoming volunteer/donation opportunities you can take part in to help make a difference:

Volunteers Needed for Project Outpour

(Volunteer Opportunity)

First Christian Church is partnering with Project Outpour, a mission providing mobile shower access to persons without adequate or convenient access to shower facilities. Providing a place for a shower, taken for granted by so many of us, supports an individual’s basic health and human dignity. More info and photos:  www.projectoutpour.org

Project Outpour sets up its mobile shower unit every Tuesday between 10 am and 2 pm in the FCC parking lot at 1200 East Boulevard, Charlotte. Volunteers can sign up per their availability within these hours, to help set up the mobile shower unit, show guests available toiletry items and gather them for their use in a bin. Volunteers show hospitality, help with general organization and keep things running smoothly.  Project Outpour staff are always present helping, and all supplies are furnished by Project Outpour.

All work is outside and requires standing up and moving, with the option to sit when possible. Volunteers should dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes, in addition to a mask. COVID protocols will be in place and enforced.
